Snow Dyeing Final Day

~

If you've had enough of my snow dyeing you'll be pleased to hear this is the last lot! Unless we get some really fresh snow of course! So, yesterday I had another go with the fresh snow that had fallen overnight, although I suspect there was also a little compacted snow in the mix. I used the magenta, lemon yellow (it never was golden yellow!) and a vibrant orange and I love the resulting colours. I've had to do a fair bit of tweaking with the computer but I think these colours are fairly accurate.

The photos above and below are different areas of the same fabric.

Your snow dyeing has worked brilliantly Julie and you have a great stach of fabrics, lace etc to work with now. Now you know what you will be doing next February too!!!

You'll be set up for weeks now, with all that lovely fabric to play with. Looking forward to seeing what you plan to do with it,and give yourself a gold star for not just hibernating!

I can see this is quite addictive :D Aren't oranges and yellows so hard to get right on the computer screen! Despite all the fantastic combinations in the snow dyed pieces I still really like the tray dyed ones :D

This is gorgeous stuff!!

BTW I got some new paints the other day, big bottles of it, and I'm going to do some playing with it, squashing and splatting it onto paper and linen and see what happens. K says it's like when he takes the infants for art :)
I say, why should kids have all the fun????

Beautiful vibrant colours. Guess you are set up for quite some time now. Glad you were able to put the snow to good use.

I'm a sucker for orangey hues and i just love pic 3. I bought a box like yours today from Homebase in the hope that there might be some snow left tomorrow, but if the forecast is right we're in for another lot on Tuesday, so maybe I'll get my chance then.

PS your word verification says 'hobum', what a great word:-)

Thanks for your comment on my blog Julie. It is a good way to build up confidence for 'scared to draw' people like me and I have surprised myself. Normally I wouldn't let anyone see my efforts.

Wow! They're all so yummy!!! I'd never be able to do snow dyeing so I'm in awe. Wonder if ice cubes would work? I have enough to keep me busy for a long time so I doubt I'll ever try that.
